Full Tummy Project
Full Tummies is a project that is designed to provide a bag of food on Fridays for children in Covington County who are at risk of hunger on the weekends.

Children who qualify for this project are determined by the school’s administration and their identities are kept confidential. Nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items are discreetly placed in the child’s backpack at a time when children are not in the classroom. The project started in early 2014, serving grades K-2 at 5 local schools (Opp, Andalusia, Straughn, Pleasant Home, and Red Level) – about 40 students every week. In the fall of 2014, we expanded to serve grades K-6 at 5 local schools. In 2020, we are now serving over 300 K-6 students every week in seven schools in Covington County.
